چکیده

Today, the cutting edge of computer vision research greatly depends on availability large datasets, which are critical for effectively training and testing new methods. Manually annotating visual data, however, is not only a labor-intensive process but also prone to errors. In this study, we present NOVA, versatile framework create realistic-looking 3D rendered worlds containing procedurally generated humans with rich pixel-level ground truth annotations. NOVA can simulate various environmental factors such as weather conditions or different times day, bring an exceptionally diverse set life, each having distinct body shape, gender age. To demonstrate NOVA's capabilities, generate two synthetic datasets person tracking. The first one includes 108 sequences, levels difficulty like tracking in crowded scenes at nighttime aims limits current state-of-the-art trackers. A second dataset 97 sequences normal used show how our be utilized train boost performance deep-learning based Our results indicate that data by represents good proxy real-world exploited tasks.

Distributed Rendering of Virtual Worlds

We present a system for distributed rendering of large and detailed virtual worlds. A cluster of servers create and maintain a hierarchical representation of the world that can be propagated to an unlimited number of clients through a content-distribution network. The preprocessing is easy to parallelize and storage requirements are minimal. Using a small subset of the representation, a client ...

Rendering Environmental Voice Reverberation for Large-scale Distributed Virtual Worlds

We present an algorithm that can render environmental audio effects for a large number of concurrent voice users immersed in a large distributed virtual world. Our approach uses an offline step, efficiently computing acoustic similarity measures based on average path length, reflection direction and diffusion throughout the environment. The similarity measures are used to adaptively decompose t...

Vector Quantization Enhancement for Computer Vision Tasks

This paper augments the Bag-of-Word scheme in several respects: we incorporate a category label into the clustering process, build classifier-tailored codebooks, and weight codewords according to their probability to occur. A size-adaptive feature clustering algorithm is also proposed as an alternative to k-means. Experiments on the PASCAL VOC 2007 challenge validate the approach for classical ...

Computer Vision Onboard UAVs for Civilian Tasks

Computer vision is much more than a technique to sense and recover environmental information from an UAV. It should play a main role regarding UAVs’ functionality because of the big amount of information that can be extracted, its possible uses and applications, and its natural connection to human driven tasks, taking into account that vision is our main interface to world understanding. Our cu...

Animating and Rendering Virtual Humans - Extending X3D for Real Time Rendering and Animation of Virtual Characters

In this paper, we focus on the different aspects of real time visualization and animation of realistic virtual characters. The common goal was to come up with solutions based on the concepts of the open ISO standard X3D and if necessary to propose generalized extensions to the standard. First we describe the high level control language PML and its implementation, which is also suitable for non-...
